Man Gettin’ Cookies
December 9, 2007
This recipe breaks all my food ideals except for easiness, but hey, it’s the holidays, and now’s the time to indulge, I say. The recipe was originally from a college friend named Holly Cobb. Thank you, Holly, wherever you are. She used to send these to her boyfriend in the mail, and he later became her husband. Thus the recipe’s name. The cookies turn out really moist and chewy and a lot more complicated-tasting than they are to make.
1 Duncan Hines Fudge Marble Cake Mix
1/3 cup oil
1 egg
3 Tablespoons water
½ package chocolate chips
Mix first four ingredients. Remove 1/4 mixture to a small bowl, add chocolate packet (from cake mix) and 1 tablespoon water. Stir and return to above mix. Swirl with chocolate chips. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes. Be sure not to overcook. Cookies will be puffy. They “sit down” as they cool on the cookie sheet.
